Saint John Hotel Mykonos Review: A Stylish & Relaxing Hideaway

If you’re searching for a Mykonos getaway that blends elegance, relaxation, and island charm, Saint John Hotel is one of those places that quietly wins you over. I spent four nights here during the summer, and this Saint John Hotel Mykonos review reflects not just the beautiful setting and amenities, but also the real experience of staying here.

This is a 4.5-star luxury hotel, and it really leans into that elevated yet relaxed Greek-island feel. It’s ideal for couples, solo travelers, and anyone who loves peaceful resort energy over party chaos, while still being close enough to explore everything Mykonos has to offer.

I also loved staying somewhere that felt like a retreat. While Mykonos can be busy, loud, and energetic (especially in summer), Saint John Hotel gave me somewhere calm to come home to. That balance made a big difference to my trip.

For planning resources that helped me organize my stay, I also used my Editable Travel Itinerary Template and my Mykonos Travel Guide, which pair perfectly with a hotel like this if you want a smooth, well-planned trip.

Why Saint John Hotel Stands Out

From the moment I arrived, the service set the tone.

I was welcomed with a refreshing drink, one of those small but thoughtful gestures that instantly makes you feel like you’ve arrived somewhere special. The lobby is bright and elegant, with Cycladic architecture, soft neutral tones, and wide open spaces that look out toward the sea.

Nothing about the hotel feels overly flashy or intimidating. Instead, it has this warm, understated luxury, the kind that makes you relax without even realizing it.

The highlight of my stay: the jacuzzi terrace

My room had a private jacuzzi on the terrace, and over looking the ocean, and honestly, that was one of the best parts of staying here.

Mornings started with a smoothie, sunshine, and quiet sea views. Evenings ended with peaceful jacuzzi time under the night sky. It felt indulgent without being over the top, like a personal little oasis.

The atmosphere

Saint John Hotel has a vibe that sits somewhere between:

  • luxury resort

  • peaceful beach escape

  • elegant Greek holiday home

It’s chic, but not “see and be seen” chic.

And if you’ve ever been to Mykonos in peak season… you know how refreshing that is.

The concierge team was also incredibly helpful and can arrange:

  • airport transfers

  • beach club reservations

  • transportation around the island

  • restaurant bookings

  • day activities or boat trips

This is especially useful because Mykonos logistics can get complicated in summer.

The hotel is also conveniently located about 15–20 minutes from Mykonos Airport by car, so your arrival and departure are stress-free and quick.

Booking & Stay Overview, Rates & Season Insights

I stayed 4 nights in peak summer, when Mykonos is at its busiest and most expensive. Having a calm, comfortable base really mattered.

Here’s a realistic pricing overview to help future travelers:

💰 Peak Summer Season (June–August)

Approx. €270–€450 per night
(prices vary depending on room type and view)

Rooms with pools or jacuzzis understandably sit toward the higher end, but for the experience you get, it feels worth it if you value comfort and space.

💰 Shoulder / Off-Season (Spring & Autumn)

Approx. €150–€280 per night

This is a great sweet-spot season:

  • fewer crowds

  • more availability

  • better pricing

…and the island still feels alive without the summer rush.

💰 Winter / very low season

Approx. €120–€220 per night

Some services may operate on reduced schedules, but if you’re looking for peace and affordability, it’s perfect.

These figures give readers a realistic budgeting baseline rather than vague “prices vary” statements. Planning a Mykonos trip always starts with expectations.

Dining: Two Restaurants, Two Different Vibes

Food is a big part of traveling in Greece, and Saint John Hotel definitely delivers.

There are two on-site restaurants, each with a distinct feel.

🥂 The Main Restaurant, elegant but approachable

Open for lunch, and dinner, this is the more formal dining space. Think:

  • fresh fish & seafood

  • grilled meats

  • Mediterranean mains

  • refined plates without feeling restrictive

It’s the kind of restaurant where you could happily dress up a little,  or arrive relaxed after a pool day, and still feel comfortable either way.

The Casual Restaurant, easy lunches & chill bites

This one is perfect when you just want food now.

Expect things like:

  • pizzas

  • club sandwiches

  • fries

  • light snacks

Basically, ideal for lazy afternoons when you don’t want to leave the hotel.

Breakfast flexibility

You can choose between:

  • breakfast in bed
    or

  • the main buffet breakfast area

I opted for the breakfast room every morning and loved it, lots of variety and a relaxed morning atmosphere.

Location, Peaceful But Well Connected

Saint John Hotel is in a location that gives you the best of both worlds.

It’s close enough to reach Mykonos Town and popular beaches. It is also just far enough removed, to feel like a private retreat. You’re never too far from:

  • beach clubs

  • local tavernas

  • scenic viewpoints

  • boat and day trip departures

And the concierge can help with anything you want to plan, which makes things so much easier if you’re new to the island.

If you’re mapping out your trip, pairing this stay with my Mykonos travel guide  is a great way to organize restaurants, beaches, and activities alongside your hotel base.

Amenities, Pools & Spa, What to Expect

The property offers plenty to do without even leaving the grounds:

✔ outdoor swimming pools
✔ spa & wellness services
✔ tennis court (I didn’t use it, but loved that it was available)
✔ fitness area
✔ concierge-organized activities

The outdoor pools were open and available throughout my stay. They were great for slow afternoons and sun-lounging.

However, one thing worth mentioning..

On my last day, I had booked a relaxing massage and was looking forward to using the spa pool afterward.

But I was told that the spa pool was closed for cleaning, even during peak season. For me this was disappointing and felt badly timed. The outdoor hotel pools were still open, but after a spa treatment, I had specifically been hoping for that relaxing thermal pool experience.

It didn’t ruin the stay, but it’s something I think guests should know in advance.

Who Will Love Staying Here?

This hotel really shines for travelers who value:

– Comfort
– Atmosphere
– Service
– Peace

It’s perfect for:

– Couples
– Honeymooners
– Solo travelers
– Relaxation seekers

Solo travelers especially will appreciate:

  • safe, welcoming environment

  • easy access to concierge assistance

  • calm spaces to unwind

  • the ability to explore Mykonos independently

This is not a loud, party-heavy hotel, and that’s honestly its strength.

Pros & Cons, Honest Takeaways

 Pros

  • beautiful rooms with jacuzzi terraces

  • warm, professional service

Final Thoughts, Would I Stay Here Again?

Yes. I genuinely would.

My stay at Saint John Hotel felt memorable in a calm, grounding, quietly luxurious way. It was the perfect balance between relaxation, comfort, and easy access to the island. The thoughtful service, the terrace jacuzzi, and the overall atmosphere made it one of those hotels you remember long after leaving.

If you’re planning your Mykonos trip and want everything organized in one place, my Editable Travel Itinerary Template is perfect for plugging in your hotel details, activities, and daily plans, and pairing it with my Mykonos Travel Guide will help you choose where to eat, swim, and explore during your stay.

If you prefer calm luxury, great food, beautiful spaces, and a hotel that feels like a retreat rather than a scene, Saint John Hotel is an excellent choice.
