ToggleIntroduction – Falling in love with Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites
On a recent weekend getaway, my boyfriend surprised me with a stay at Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites, and let me tell you, it was love at first sight. Nestled in the heart of Franciacorta, just an hour’s drive from Milan, this award-winning boutique winery and hotel felt like stepping straight into an Italian daydream.
From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff greeted us like old friends, instantly making us feel at home. The estate, an 18th-century villa surrounded by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vineyards, is pure magic. As someone who adores luxury travel and fine wine (yes, I’ll admit it 🍷), I couldn’t wait to share this gem with you!
Location – A serene escape just an hour from Milan
One of the best things about Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites is how easy it is to reach. It’s only about a 1-hour drive (or 79 km) from Milan via the A4 motorway, making it the perfect countryside escape. You can also hop on a train to Brescia and take a quick taxi, or even arrive by private transfer arranged by the villa’s attentive concierge team.
Surrounded by rolling hills and just 15 minutes from Lake Iseo, this is the Franciacorta region at its finest, peaceful, picturesque, and full of hidden gems waiting to be explored.
The suites – Where history meets haute bohemian chic
Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites has only 11 exclusive suites, each individually designed with antique furnishings, frescoed ceilings, and plush modern touches. We stayed in the Genius Executive Suite, which was pure elegance: 55 sqm of space with a private drawing room overlooking the southern gardens. Sipping morning espresso while watching the sunlight pour in was absolute bliss.
Other highlights include the romantic Princess Zeila Executive Suite, perfect for honeymoons with its private terrace, and the cozy Zizibé Mini Suite, ideal for an intimate escape. Every room features high-speed Wi-Fi, a Nespresso machine, and dreamy linens you’ll never want to leave.
Food and drink
Mornings begin with a continental breakfast served either in the jungle‑style veranda or under the garden pergola. Expect eggs Benedict cooked to order, fresh croissants, homemade cakes and locally sourced yogurt and fruit. The ingredients come from neighbouring farms and are strictly seasonal. A light lunch menu is available from 12:30–14:30, perfect if you wish to linger on the property rather than explore. For dinner, the concierge can arrange reservations at nearby Michelin‑starred restaurants or organise a private chef for groups.
Amenities – Infinity pool goals & estate-made wine
Let’s talk about my favorite part: the new panoramic infinity pool. Opened in 2025, it overlooks the villa’s Pinot Noir vineyards. Floating here with a glass of Franciacorta sparkling wine in hand was surreal. (Full disclosure: we may have already promised each other we’ll come back as soon as the pool bar opens, because yes, we fully embrace our love for a good aperitivo! 🍾😂)
Of course, it’s not just about the pool. Staying here means you’re literally in the middle of a working winery. Daily wine tastings introduce you to their award-winning organic Franciacorta wines, and I can honestly say their Blanc de Blancs might be one of the best I’ve ever had.
Dining – Michelin-star magic at Due Colombe
Just a short drive from Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites is Ristorante Due Colombe al Borgo Antico, a one-Michelin-star treasure where we indulged in a nine-course tasting menu. Every dish was a masterpiece, think handmade pasta, lake fish, and the chef’s signature beef with polenta (a family recipe!).
The ambiance? Rustic elegance in a restored hamlet with stone walls and wooden beams. Paired with perfectly chosen Franciacorta wines, it was one of the best dining experiences of my life. Trust me: book this restaurant early, you’ll thank me later.
Activities – Relax, explore, sip
When you’re not lounging by the infinity pool or enjoying your suite at Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites, here’s what you can do nearby:
Wine tastings & tours: Learn the secrets of Franciacorta sparkling wine production.
Yoga in the gardens: Summer classes followed by a healthy brunch.
Cycling & hiking: Explore rolling hills and charming villages.
Cultural visits: Tour Bornato Castle or stroll around Lake Iseo.

Final thoughts – Why I’ll be back (with a glass in hand!)
Staying at Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites felt like stepping into a movie. The combination of gorgeous suites, friendly staff who truly go above and beyond, and that serene vineyard setting won our hearts.
We laughed, we lounged by the pool, we drank our weight in Franciacorta (no regrets 🤣), and we already decided we’re coming back once the pool bar is ready. Because honestly, what’s better than sipping sparkling wine in a vineyard infinity pool?
If you’re dreaming of a luxury getaway near Milan that’s intimate, elegant, and a little bit indulgent, Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites is your answer. Pack your bags, and don’t forget to save me a seat at the pool bar, I’ll be there first!
