One of my hobbies is eating out and exploring different restaurants, as a foodie, and food reviewer this is part of who I am and what I really love doing. I feel like Capetown is a city that has it all, from amazing hotels, wine farms, a variety of activities, and one of the best restaurants not only in south Africa but in the world too.
I try to eat out at least 3 times a week, I’m quite specific and picky as I don’t eat red meat, but one thing about Capetown is that it offers the best seafood and fish dishes, so it’s never a struggle to find a great restaurant. I have put down a list of 6 of my current favorite, in no particular order.
1- Grand Pavilion
It is a beautiful and elegant restaurant situated on Seapoint beach road, it gives you that luxurious feel, all the time I’m there it feels like I’m in Miami, it also offers one of the best sunsets. I only go there for their Ceviche, it is literally one of the best iv ever tasted, it is offered as a starter but the portion is big and filling, and let me tell you, they are not stingy with the seafood!
2- Bilboa
It is situated on camps bay beach road on the 2nd floor, which means you are guaranteed the best view of the ocean. It was my second time eating there and they offered a set winter menu for a very affordable price considering the location. I had calamari for starters and spicy prawns and fries for the main dish which was very delicious.
3- Grand Africa Cafe & Beach
One of my favorite restaurants in the world, no jokes!! it only opens in summer as it is a beach restaurant located next to the Waterfront, and it is very close to the beach, it has an amazing vibe, ambiance, and delicious food. They also host the best beach parties. One of my favorite dishes is the salmon salad, always very fresh and crispy.
4- The Bungalow
It is situated in Clifton, close to the ocean, you catch one of the most amazing sunsets here, the food is great and an amazing vibe, they have lounges where you can sit and relax and eat your food, or the option of sitting on a chair and eating on a table, I like both options.
5- The Office
New kid on the block. Situated on Seapoint main road, the perfect place to have a drink after work, or with friends during the weekend, it is a sports bar that offers really delicious food, for affordable prices, I had their trout with potato salad, and I couldn’t stop raving about it. The vibe is great and amazing staff as well.
6- Bobos
Situated in Mouille Point, I love everything about this restaurant, the great food, ambiance, views, and decor, it has 2 fire places which makes it a great place to go to in winter, it also has a little library where you can sit by the fire and read a book while sipping on a drink. I went for their winter special which was both affordable and delicious.
