La Petite Ferme Lunch

La Petite Ferme Lunch

La Petite Ferme is situated in a beautiful town of Franschhoek in the winelands, and its just an hour’s drive from Capetown, which makes it a perfect place to frequently visit over the weekends.

La Petite Ferme is a renowned manor house and vineyard suites on the Franschhoek pass and a member of The Nest Collection.I got the pleasure of being invited to taste their new chef Odette Olivier’s delicious menu, and ooh my, was the food and experience exquisite!!

The menu itself is small, which for me is a very good thing as I don’t get overwhelmed by a lot of options. They have 5 Starter options, 6 Main course options and 5 dessert options, and let me tell you, you will want to order all of them as they are all very tasty options.

We ordered 2 starters: the Fish Crudo Roti which was a combination of papaya, pineapple sage tzatziki, curry leaves, white anchovy, smoked aioli and lemon mead shooter (my favourite). We also ordered the West Coast Mussels, a mixture of smoked snoek croquette, verjuice beurre blanc, red pepper smoortjie, petite peas and nasturtiums.

For our main dish we had the Seared Salmon Trout, this was literally the most delicate and delicious meal, I’m a huge fan of salmon, so its safe to say I was in heaven!! It had spicy fermented honey glaze, confit potato, sugar snap peas, green grapes, edamame and lime hollandaise these mixture of ingredients was mind blowing to taste.

We also had the Pork Belly, a combination of hummus, mustard sour cream, candied baby beets, fennel, apple, broccolini, xigugu, and crackling. These dishes paired beautifully with a chilled and crisp bottle of MCC Colmant Brut Reserve.

The dessert was the cherry on top for me, Odette’s Bounty Bar was my absolute favourite as I’m a huge chocolate fan, it was a chocolate brownie with whipped chocolate ganache, toasted coconut marshmallow, coconut oil snow and basil, we also had the cake of the day, which was a delicious carrot cake on that day.

The restaurant is currently open for lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner seven days a week from 18:00 to 21:00, you can reserve your your table by simply calling them or by email.

Thank you to Leanne Sutherland and La Petite Ferme for hosting and inviting us for an amazing and unforgettable culinary experience.
