If you’ve ever wanted to experience the luxury lifestyle of Monaco, Hotel Port Palace Monte Carlo is the place to do it. I spent two nights there at the end of August after my Provence trip, and it perfectly captured the essence of Monte Carlo. Yachts, designer shopping, rooftop dining, and that unique Riviera buzz.

ToggleWhy Choose Hotel Port Palace Monte Carlo?
Hotel Port Palace Monte Carlo is a four-star boutique hotel with just 50 rooms and suites, which gives it an intimate feel compared to Monaco’s larger luxury resorts. All rooms overlook Port Hercule, the city’s famous harbour, where super-yachts line the marina. It’s literally next door to the yachts, which means every morning starts with views worthy of a James Bond film.
What makes it special:
Steps away from Casino de Monte-Carlo, Café de Paris, and high-end designer stores.
Rooftop restaurant La Môme Monte Carlo, one of my personal favourites, where breakfast is served with panoramic views.
A boutique property with personalised service and a luxury atmosphere, but without the overwhelming scale of mega-resorts.
At Hotel Port Palace Monte Carlo, you feel right at the center of Monaco’s glamorous scene.
Booking & Stay Details
I stayed here for two nights at the end of August. The booking was made through Booking.com, which I recommend since it often shows the best rates and flexible cancellation options.
The suite on the 4th floor came with a spacious bed, elegant marble bathroom, and stunning harbour views. While I didn’t handle the booking myself, breakfast was included, either buffet or à la carte, which was a pleasant surprise.
Dining & Rooftop Restaurant
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at La Môme Monte Carlo, the rooftop restaurant. This was easily one of my highlights:
Breakfast: included in the rate, buffet or à la carte.
Atmosphere: unbeatable rooftop vibes, with harbour views stretching across Monaco.
Lunch & Dinner: although I ate out during the day, the menu here offers Mediterranean dishes and a lively evening setting.
The rooftop is not only a dining venue but an experience in itself. A must even if you’re not staying at the hotel.
Location & Nearby Attractions
The location is prime:
A short walk to Casino de Monte-Carlo and Café de Paris.
Surrounded by luxury boutiques and cafés.
Right on the harbour, with unobstructed views of yachts and marina life.
For anyone wanting to experience the most iconic side of Monaco, this is as central as it gets.
Sample Pricing & Seasonal Comparison
Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect to pay at Hotel Port Palace Monte Carlo (rates vary by season, room type, and booking platform):
Since I visited in August (peak summer), my suite fell on the higher end of this spectrum.
| Season | Typical Nightly Rate (Suite / Harbour-View) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| High Season (Jun–Aug) | ~US$600–$800+ per night | Peak demand; events (GP, yacht shows) can push rates higher. |
| Shoulder (Spring/Autumn) | ~US$400–$550 per night | Great weather, better value than peak summer. |
| Low Season (Winter) | ~US$250–$400 per night (standard rooms lower) | Quietest period; best deals and availability. |

Service & Atmosphere
The service was excellent, attentive but discreet, exactly what you’d want in a boutique luxury hotel. The atmosphere is sophisticated and stylish, but more relaxed compared to Monaco’s grand historic properties.
This is a hotel that feels both luxurious and approachable, with staff making you feel genuinely welcome.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
Unmatched harbour and yacht views
Rooftop restaurant with insane views
Central location (casino, shopping, cafés all nearby)
Boutique size (50 rooms) means personalised service
Spacious suites with marble bathrooms
Cons:
No pool
Gym/spa facilities limited
Premium summer pricing

Final Verdict & Rating
Overall, Hotel Port Palace Monte Carlo delivers everything you’d expect from a luxury Monaco stay: yacht views, rooftop dining, and prime location. The only downsides are the missing pool and limited gym/spa, but otherwise it’s an outstanding boutique property.
