Here is why you should visit Cervo

Here is why you should visit Cervo

Last month on our way to the French Riviera we decided to take a detour to see one of the towns on the Italian Riviera, we went to a very beautiful city called Cervo. For those who don’t know it, Cervo is a small ancient town, (more than 2000 years old) it is built on top of a hill along the Italian Riviera.

Even though my visit was for a mere 2 hours, I made sure I explored as much as possible, I loved that it is a medieval village situated next to the coast, which I found very intriguing, if you want a leg exercise, Cervo is the right place for you to get that workout, you spent most of your time walking up or down the narrow stairways

We also got the chance to see the Cervo castle from the outside though, we didn’t get the chance to go inside, I didn’t mind so much as I love old architecture so I was just as happy. The castle was built in the 11th century and is situated at the top of the village, a perfect spot for everyone to see it.

The old buildings are so beautiful and have so much character and the authenticity was what I loved the most, I didn’t see any modern buildings there, and its one of the reasons I would go back again, but this time spend more than 2 hours.

We went to eat at the cutest family-owned restaurant with spectacular views of the ocean, (unfortunately, I dont remember its name), I had one of the freshest and most delicious seafood pasta ever, and next time I visit Cervo I will definitely pay them another visit, and make sure I don’t forget the name laugh out loud.

In closing, if you love ancient villages and rustic buildings and lots of stairs, I would recommend you visit this village.

Thank you for reading.
